Rev. Fr. Stefan Hippler
Rev. Fr. Stefan Hippler is a chaplain to the German speaking Catholic Community in Cape Town since 1997. He also brings international experience in the areas of social work and humanitarian issues.  Together with Dr. Monika Esser, he is co-founder of HOPE Cape Town Association and chaired the management from 2001 - 2006. In 2006 he was elected Chairperson of the Board of Trustees for the HOPE Cape Town Trust.

Tygerberg Children’s Hospital and representative of the German Speaking Catholic Community
Dr. Monika Esser is a pediatrician at the Tygerberg Children's Hospital and a faculty member of the University of Stellenbosch. Together with Rev. Fr. Stefan Hippler she is a co-founder of HOPE Cape Town Association. Since November 2006 Dr. Esser is the also the chairperson of the management committee.

Dr. Susanne Reuther is both a medical doctor by profession and a successful entrepreneur including "Rooibos Tea".  She has been and still is very instrumental in obtaining funding for the project mainly from Germany.

Prof. Cotton was made responsible for the Ithemba Ward in 2001 due to his specialty in pediatrics and triple therapy treatment.

Dr Gie is a faculty member of the Tygerberg Academic Health Complex and the University of Stellenbosch and also involved in TB training in other countries including UN programmes.

Professor Dr. med. Dr. med. habil. DTM&H MRCPath, Head of Discipline
He was appointed Professor and Head of the Discipline of Medical Virology at the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of Stellenbosch as from August 2005. Before he had worked as a medical virologist in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, and in London, United Kingdom. His special interests are the diagnosis of viral diseases with particular emphasis on HIV, viral infections affecting immunocompromised patients as well as emerging infectious diseases. He has for many years followed the development of the HIV/AIDS epidemic in South Africa and been involved even before moving here. He is also one of the authors of a textbook on HIV medicine that is available free online.

Project Coordinator
Yasmin Buettgen is in charge of the day to day running of HOPE Cape Town. She has various experience in the NGO fields and speaks German, English, Afrikaans and is trying hard to learn Xhosa

Pauline Jooste
Training and Compliance Officer
Pauline Jooste, a senior nurse with extensive experience of 27 years in the hospital and clinic setting, has been with HOPE Cape Town Association since January 2005.  A nursing graduate from Tygerberg Hospital, Pauline is responsible for the training of all HOPE Community Health Workers as well as professional liaison with clinic staff.

Lise Chartrand
Liaison Officer between Association & Trust
Lise Chartrand joined HOPE Cape Town Association in March 2006.  Her international background in development is oriented towards social and policy issues and she is responsible for outreach.

Patty Peier
Office administrator
Patty is our office administrator, first as a volunteer and now full time employed. She worked for 28 years in the aviation industry and was responsible for the daily running of a Military and Commercial Aviation workshop. You will have her friendly voice on the phone if you contact the HOPE Cape Town office

HOPE Cape Town Doctor – Pediatrician
Madri Carstens has been with HOPE Cape Town Association since March 2003.   Originally responsible for ARV sponsored children, Madri now provides medical training in-house for the HOPE Community Health Workers.
